How this calculator works
The countdown recalculates every second from the difference between your target date/time and the current time on your device, split into whole days, hours, minutes and seconds. Once the target passes, it flips to showing how long ago it happened instead.
Time zones aren't shared automatically
Because it uses your browser's local clock and time zone, the target date/time you set is interpreted in your own local time. Sharing a link to this page with someone in a different time zone won't adjust the target for them — if you need to coordinate a specific moment across zones, work out the equivalent local time for each person first (the Timezone Converter can help with that), since this tool has no concept of who's viewing it from where.
The countdown doesn't persist between visits
The event name and target date/time you enter live only in this browser tab — closing or refreshing the page resets the form, and there's no notification or alarm when the countdown hits zero. It's meant for keeping an eye on a target while the page stays open (a livestream overlay, a shared screen counting down to a launch), not as a reminder system that alerts you later.
