How this calculator works

Fill in company and employee details, earnings, deductions and leave balances on the left, and watch the payslip update live on the right. Net pay is simply total earnings minus total deductions — everything else here is formatting and layout.

What the loss-of-pay field does

The Loss of Pay (Days) field prints on the payslip when it's greater than zero, but it doesn't automatically reduce net pay in this calculator — LOP deduction amounts vary too much between companies (some prorate from basic salary only, others from gross) to compute reliably. If an employee had unpaid leave, work out the deduction amount separately and enter it under Other Deductions so it's reflected in the net pay total.

Export and privacy

Export renders the preview exactly as shown to an image or PDF entirely in your browser using canvas rendering, so your salary details are never sent to a server or stored anywhere — closing the tab clears everything. Use the currency selector on this page (not the site-wide one) since a payslip needs to stay in one fixed currency regardless of who's viewing it.

This isn't a substitute for payroll software

This tool is meant for quick, one-off payslips — freelancers documenting their own pay, small teams without a payroll system, or anyone who needs a professional-looking slip fast. It doesn't calculate statutory deductions like PF or professional tax automatically (you enter those amounts yourself), doesn't keep records between pay periods, and isn't a replacement for compliant payroll software once a business has employees to run monthly cycles for. If you need to work out income tax first, the Income Tax Calculator can help estimate the TDS figure to enter here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my salary data uploaded anywhere?

No — the entire salary slip, including the export to JPG or PDF, is generated and rendered locally in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server.

How is net pay calculated?

Net pay is gross earnings (basic salary plus allowances) minus total deductions (provident fund, professional tax, income tax, and any other deductions you enter).

Can I use this for official payroll purposes?

It's designed for generating a clean, professional-looking payslip document — for formal payroll compliance and statutory filing, use dedicated payroll software or consult your accounting team.

Does the Loss of Pay (Days) field reduce net pay automatically?

No — it only prints on the slip for reference. LOP deduction formulas vary between companies, so if an employee had unpaid leave, calculate that deduction amount yourself and add it under Other Deductions so it's reflected in the net pay total.

Does this calculate PF, professional tax or TDS for me?

No — those are entered as fixed amounts you provide. Work out the applicable statutory deductions separately (an income tax calculator can help estimate TDS) and enter the resulting figures here.

Can I add a company logo?

Yes — upload an image from the Company section and it's embedded directly into the payslip preview and export, entirely client-side.
